An exhibition of Dale Smith’s never-before-seen photographs of Bob Dylan, Allen Ginsberg, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and other counterculture poets and performers from the 1960s will be on view at Julie Baker Fine Art in Nevada City, starting Friday with the artist’s reception and continuing until March 12.

The reception is from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery, 307 Spring St., Suite B. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 6 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 4 p.m., and by appointment.

The town of Alleghany is organizing its annual festival of the arts, scheduled this year for May 21, and are putting out a call for all authors, poets and artists interested in participating in this the fourth annual “The Gathering.”
