Area woman’s son eliminated on reality show

Wednesday night’s episode of Project Runway was a disappointing finish for fans of Austin Scarlett – the son of a Nevada City woman, Debra Little.

Austin was one of four finalists on the Bravo reality TV show that showcases and tests the design skills of 10 fledgling designers. Contenders are eliminated based on the quality and creativity of their design each week, and Austin came in last on the show that aired Wednesday.

Each week, the designers are put to a challenge. This week they had to create a dress that could be worn on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards.

The final three designers got to take their collections to New York’s Fashion Week, which ends Friday. The ultimate winner will receive $100,000 to begin a collection and a mentorship with Banana Republic.
