Ardyce Quinby

Memorial services for Ardyce Quinby of Vacaville will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley. Services will be officiated by the Rev. Barbara Smith. Her ashes will be scattered at sea by the U.S. Navy, off the coast of San Diego County.

Mrs. Quinby died Saturday, July 31, in Vacaville. She was 88.

She was born March 11, 1916, in Napa, to Alvin and Ellie (Wittenberg) Munk. She married Eldon Quinby on July 27, 1947, in Oakland. She worked as a secretary for the Piedmont Unified School District for 11 years until retiring. She had been a resident of Grass Valley for 26 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Nevada City. She enjoyed golf.



She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Clark Schuyler of Vacaville; sister-in-law, Tillie Munk of Arkansas; niece and nephew-in-law Linda and Ron Hardee of Arkansas; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Eldon Quinby, in 2001; and brother, Robert Munk.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento 95817.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
