April Revel in the Woods

Now come we to the sweetness of May

union of life and beauty where e’er they lie.

My Lord and Lady beckon us-

remember the secrets of the wood!

Their laughter now heals us, yet

all joy and promise of bliss attain we not

till each damisela and bonhomme here

be crowned queen and king,

taste the flavor of life seen and unseen.

Now let us carry gleam of love’s wisdom

through the forest bower

today, tonight, and e’en unto our final flowering.

Now earth be renewed as we till and plow and plant,

blessed rhythms of earth hearken to divine,

now blessed be all blossom and fruit, all grain and vine.

My Lord of Life and my Lady of Love say it is so

for now enough to walk in love’s sweet dream.

The Land of Heart’s Desire lies all about us!

These glittering daimons will soon traverse other halls,

the smoke of longing will linger in our clothes.

O good folk, if we go now, but listen to the trees

speak- lo! we may find love once again!
