Anthonie Green

Memorial services for Anthonie D. Green will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Canice Catholic Church in Nevada City.

Mrs. Green died at her home in Nevada City Wednesday. She was 83.



Mrs. Green was born on June 10, 1919, in New York City to Frederick and Katharine Duffy.

She attended Columbia University and served in World War II as a Red Cross volunteer.




She married Josich E. Green Jr. in Franktown, Nev., on Oct. 20, 1952.

Mrs. Green was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, traveling, shopping and eating lunch out. She had a great love for animals, especially dogs.

Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her husband, Josich E. Green Jr., a former lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Marine Corp. She has no known survivors.

Memorial contributions are requested for Hospice of the Foothills and Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver in Grass Valley.
