A registered Libertarian with mixed views, some quite conservative, I’m not fully qualified to answer the letter “questions for liberals.” I certainly don’t hate anyone and will abide by the election outcome. But I am adamantly opposed to reelection based solely on Bush’s job performance:

To wit, turning record surplus into record deficit, squandering post 9/11 national unity and international goodwill, incompetence without accountability in Iraq from numerous “miscalculations” (WMD, resistance strength, etc.) to prisoner abuse, getting into that predictable mess with neither sufficient resources nor viable exit strategy, largest growth of government size and spending of any modern presidency, complete breakdown of international respect, using the Constitution as a political football, exploiting 9/11 to suppress liberty, and continued corruption epitomized by the $550 billion drug company giveaway that forbids Medicare from negotiating price.

This is a very partial list against virtually zero successes. It’s striking how many violate what used to be bedrock conservative principles.

It’s bad for our democracy to vindicate such incompetence and misjudgment. A fiscal conservative, I’d fire him for the deficit alone.
