Golden Empire Sams RV Club
Our chapter has monthly meetings and participates in a number of events for the community. Our next event will be held at Bodega Bay RV Park August 11 to 15, 2013.
This will be a fine time to escape the summer heat. There are many activities going on in that area. Contact our membership chairman at 530-477-1799 or Cell 530-263-2035 for more information on how to join our chapter.
Roadrunners of Nevada County
Sept. 7: Exploring Mare Island. Tour guides will share their vast knowledge of Mare Island and the significant contributions workers at the shipyard made to US war efforts. We will experience a number of attractions on this historic island including Officer’s row and the Admiral’s mansion, see the 26 Tiffany stained glass windows in St. Peter’s chapel, visit the artifacts museum and the dry docks along the waterfront. Lunch is included on the island. 7 a.m. Park & Ride, 7:30 a.m. SPD.
Oct. 18: Apple Hill. This Roadrunner favorite trip includes BBQ chicken lunch with apple pie a la mode at High Hill Ranch. You also get an apple fritter to go. Then we’ll tour some orchards and visit craft vendors along the way. 7:30 a.m. Park & Ride, 8 a.m. SPD.
Oct. 24: Missiles and Mammals. We’re going to the Marin Headlands to tour decommissioned Nike Missile Station SF88, have a picnic lunch by the beach and tour the Marine Mammal Center – all within a mile of each other near Fort Cronkite. Fall is traditionally a beautiful time of year by the coast and this should be a fantastic excursion. 7:30 Park and Ride, 8 a.m. SPD.
