Big Springs Gardens, August 15: This may be our last visit to this gem in the mountains as it is on the market to be sold. We’re going to do something different this time and listen to love music while eating hors de’ oeuvres, and then enjoy a barbecue dinner with salmon, chicken, ribs, and all kinds of side dishes. 12:30 p.m. Park & Ride, 1 p.m. SPD.

Hyatt Resort Lake Tahoe, Aug. 19: Lunch at the Hyatt Resort at Incline on Lake Tahoe. After lunch you can choose to gamble, relax on the beach or at the pool, take a hike, or do any of the many activities offered at the Hyatt.

Sacramento Esquire IMax Theater, Sept. 17: We will see a double feature documentary: “Island of Lemurs: Madagascar” and “Galapagos: Nature’s Wonderland.” both in 3D. The show starts at 10 a.m. with popcorn and soft drinks during intermission. Following the movies, we will have lunch at the nearby Old Spaghetti Factory. 8 a.m. Park & Ride, 8:30 a.m. SPD.

Sunday brunch at Grand Island Mansion, Nov. 2: Fabulous buffet champagne brunch. Tour of Mansion. On way home, we will visit Sutter’s Fort. 8 a.m. Park & Ride, 8:30 a.m. SPD.

Holiday show at the Eldorado, Nov. 20-21: The most loved Christmas show of all comes to Reno and the Eldorado. Featuring glittering costumes, a dazzling cast and the highest kicking chorus girls this side of the North Pole! Start Christmas in style as Santa and his merry helpers take you on an unforgettable nostalgic Christmas journey. Nevada County Travel Club

We are a nonprofit social club that has been turning unique travel experiences into wonderful memories for the citizens of Western Nevada County for over 35 years. Tours from one to 15 days include motor coach, boat/ship, train and plane transportation.

Each monthly meeting of NCTC includes a catered lunch, opportunity to get more tour information, register for tours, social time and a travel program.

We had a wonderful tour to the California State Parks new Statewide Museum Collection Center ( and were totally amazed by the volume and variety of artifacts they have collected for over 100 years.

The Golden Empire Sam’s RV Group

The Golden Empire Sam’s group met May 11 through 15 at the Gridley Inn & RV Park. Our members enjoyed visiting a rice museum and listening to a performance of a old pipe organ.
