Sacramento Esquire IMax Theater, Sept. 17: We will see a double feature documentary: “Island of Lemurs: Madagascar” and “Galapagos: Nature’s Wonderland,” both in 3D. The show starts at 10 a.m. with popcorn and soft drinks during intermission. Following the movies, we will have lunch at the nearby Old Spaghetti Factory. 8 a.m. Park & Ride, 8:30 a.m. SPD.
Sunday brunch at Grand Island Mansion, Nov. 2: Fabulous buffet champagne brunch. Tour of Mansion. On way home, we will visit Sutter’s Fort. 8 a.m. Park & Ride, 8:30 a.m. SPD.
Holiday show “The Spirit of Christmas” at the Eldorado, Nov. 20-21: The most loved Christmas show of all comes to Reno and the Eldorado. Featuring glittering costumes, a dazzling cast and the highest kicking chorus girls this side of the North Pole.
Start Christmas in style as Santa and his merry helpers take you on an unforgettable nostalgic Christmas journey. Songs include “White Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Chestnuts Roasting,” “Jingle Bells,” “Away in a Manger,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Let it Snow,” “Silent Night,” “Deck the Halls,” O Holy Night,” and many more traditional holiday favorites. Price includes overnight accommodations, breakfast buffet, cocktail party, show ticket, dinner voucher, motor coach transportation and driver gratuity. 10 a.m. Park & Ride, 10:30 a.m. SPD.
Holiday Lights at Gilroy Gardens and Barrangos, Dec. 12 and 13: Get into the holiday spirit with a visit to Gilroy Gardens when it’s all lit up for Christmas. First we have a delicious holiday dinner with turkey, ham, and all the traditional “fixins” including dessert. Then you’re in for a treat as you stroll among the holiday displays and lights on an easy well-lit path. You can take your time and take in all the sights as the park closes at 9 p.m. We’re staying overnight at a Holiday Inn in Gilroy. The next day we tour Barrango in South San Francisco, where they make holiday decorations and Christmas trees for shopping centers, malls, civic buildings and more.

Nevada County Travel Club
Our club celebrates it’s 41st “birthday” at the September 10 general meeting. Travel program presenter will be Jay Fehan of Collette Vacations. Members and guests are urged to wear items of clothing/costumes purchased on vacations to the October 8 general meeting. The program will be a travel fashion show. Two more day tours for 2014 are planned for members and guests:
MYSTERY TOUR on Friday, October 24: Attendees are encouraged to wear safe walking costumes. Tour includes round-trip motor coach from Grass Valley or Roseville, two holiday-appropriate tours, a three-course dinner quite possibly with G H O S T S and all gratuities.
HOLIDAY PREVIEW: December 10 through 12. Tour includes two nights’ lodging, two breakfasts, dinner, cocktail party with expanded appetizers, holiday musical show all at The El Dorado of Reno. Round-trip motor coach, gratuities, taxes and fees included also.
Plenty of daytime for holiday shopping, river-walking, art or auto museums, relaxation/spa, or gaming.
Start 2015 enjoying HIGHLIGHTS OF FLORIDA February 8 through 17 on a Collette Vacation with NCTC. Features include: The Keys, Everglades, East and West Coasts and Orlando. Relax in Orlando or take an optional visit to one of the area’s Theme Parks.
CRUISE ALASKA FROM THE GOLDEN GATE May 15 through 26. Cruise includes round-trip coach to San Francisco Pier 35, curb to curb service, 11 day cruise, insurance, taxes and fees. Sail Celebrity’s Infinity (mid-size ship) to Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, Tracy Arm Fjord, Victoria and Astoria with Nevada County Travel Club.

We had a wonderful tour to the California State Parks new Statewide Museum Collection Center (SMCC.email@example.com) and were totally amazed by the volume and variety of artifacts they have collected for over 100 years.
The Golden Empire Sams RV Group
Our group met July 7 through 10 at Cromberg. Our members enjoyed decorating their rigs with red, white and blue for the 4th of July.
