Schulzes celebrate 60 years

Otto and Margot Schulze, of Alta Sierra, recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Otto grew up in Berlin, and Margo grew up outside Stuttgart, Germany. They each emigrated to the United States in the early 1950s and met at a meeting of the Order of the Herrmann’s Sons, a German fraternal organization, in San Leandro, Calif. They married on Sept. 17, 1955, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, San Leandro.

They have been blessed with three children, Ronald, Helga and Duane; six grandchildren and six great-grandsons. They have lived in Nevada County since 1993, are active at Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley and enjoy singing in the Peace Choir.

The Schulzes celebrated with a gathering of 82 relatives and friends on Sept. 24 at Peace Lutheran Church.
