Adults 55 and older are invited to share their time and talents with Nevada County nonprofits, public agencies and schools.

Accident, liability and excess auto insurance are provided, and mileage reimbursement is available for people older than 55. Cat Room Attendant



Volunteers who love cats are needed to take care of cats waiting for their permanent people. Days and times vary and shift lengths are two to three hours. Duties include feeding, cleaning the cages and enjoying the cats.

Grant Writer




The free literacy program of the Nevada County Library is seeking a volunteer experienced in grant writing to assist in developing and submitting grant proposals.

State Parks Training

The training for volunteers interested in the State Historic Parks in our area is set to begin March 17. Interested individuals must sign up in advance. Park activities include docents, special events, gardeners, living history, the Over the Hill Gang and more. This training is only offered once a year so call now to hear more

Information and assistance

Helpline Information and Assistance is looking for a Friday afternoon volunteer who enjoys working independently and helping answer questions about county wide services with the use of a data base.
