Do you love visiting the ReStore and have cashier experience?
The Nevada Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a thrift store for building materials and supplies open to the general public in western Nevada County. The ReStore sells donated used or surplus building materials and supplies at a discounted rate. Currently, The ReStore is in need of volunteers to assist as cashiers. Cashiers ring up customer purchases, make accurate change, run credit cards, keep the cashier area tidy and stock small items. Customer service experience in a fast paced environment and cash handling experience is a plus. Shift length is four hours or more, depending on the desire of the volunteer.
Nevada County Concert Band is in search of band sands!
Nevada County Concert Band performs free concerts throughout Nevada County. Currently they have several various opportunities for volunteering, depending on interest and time commitments. Website management, publicity and public relations, photography, concert stage management and historian are just a few of the many rewarding opportunities that are available. If you enjoy music and can be part of this wonderful team effort to bring free, quality music experiences to the Nevada County community, please contact Michael Ireland at 530-477-7370.
Create life changing connections through the telephone
If you are compassionate, enjoy friendly conversation and look forward to “making someone’s day”, we may have the volunteer job for you! Under the guidance of RSVP staff, we are looking for volunteers to take one shift a week; either in the morning (9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) or afternoons (12:30 to 4 p.m.) to call local seniors that have signed up to participate in our Telephone Reassurance Program. Many of the volunteers with this program say they get as much out of the experience as the senior being called. Volunteers will also be making appointments for various community events. It is “on the job training;” you will need to be comfortable speaking on the phone and have some general computer skills. Your help will make a difference in many people’s lives — guaranteed!
Please visit http://www.volunteernevadacounty.org to view many more volunteer opportunities.
