Nevada County Collections is looking for a flexible Office Assistant to help with opening accounts, posting payments and opening mail one to two days a week. Basic computer skills and good reading skills are all that are required.

Become a member of 211’s Disaster Response Team

In the event of a disaster—such as a wildfire, chemical spill, or flood—the 211 Disaster Response Team will provide up-to-date information to Nevada County residents about evacuations, shelter locations, road closures, and more. The goal of the DRT is to provide Nevada County residents with a quick, reliable source of information while diverting non-emergency calls away from 911.

Disaster Response Team members will answer calls right from their own homes using state-of-the-art VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology. This is an on-call position. During a local disaster, regular 211 operations will be suspended and the Response Team will be activated to provide the latest information from the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services. Please email for more information.

This is a wonderful opportunity to be of assistance to citizens and the general public visiting our government center. A desire to help people find local information is key.
