Holy Wisdom, Nevada City
Many people do not attend church at all, or do so very infrequently. We live by the time-worn excuse that “you don’t have to go to church to be a good Christian.” Christ Himself, thought it important to attend and participate in weekly worship. By what standard of measurement do we feel that we are entitled to do less?
Divine Liturgy is Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Vespers on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call 530-265-4714 or visit http://www.holywisdomnevadacity.org.

We are a non-denominational church of self proclaimed “Pedestrians” — “Jesus did the talkin’ and we’ll do the walkin,” says Associate Pastor Lane Baldwin, with a fire in his heart. Here are examples of programs we have provided in one year:
-“Operation Number 2.0 Pencil,” we collect and continue to distribute school supplies to four local schools.
– “Souper Sunday” allows anyone to come in after church, at noon, have a bottomless bowl of soup and a family movie at 1 p.m.
– “Operation Feed the Ridge,” we distribute six bags of groceries a day Monday through Saturday.
-“Cold Hands – Warm Heart” is a mobile clothes closet that provides anything warm we can get our hands on!
Again, we wouldn’t be able to help our community without our community’s help.
