Jim Line has been chosen to lead the county’s discussion group on The Story, an abridged and chronological book of stories from the Bible. The group, open to everyone, began meeting at 6 :30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings in the Fellowship Hall of Sierra Presbyterian Church.

“People of all kinds will enjoy and connect with the accounts within The Story. They are free to share and ask questions,” Jim states.

Jim is a recently retired attorney. He graduated from UC Berkeley and Hastings School of Law. He is a life-long Bible scholar and has taught classes on both the Old and New Testaments. Jim and his wife, Linda, have three daughters and 2 grandchildren.

The Story is a hard-back book; each chapter has a different story. Three different level children’s books and a teen book also have the same story in each chapter presented an age-appropriate manner. Discussion groups will focus on one chapter each week and give participants the opportunity to hear how others react to each story.

Along with the adult Tuesday evening discussion group, there will be a children’s program at the same time. On Wednesday nights beginning September 10, at 5:30 PM a teen program will begin with a free supper and include games, music and discussion.. There will also be an afternoon adult discussion group at Eskaton in the Lodge Theater, 1:30 PM, beginning, Monday, September 10.

There is no charge to attend any discussion group. The Story books are $10 each and available at the sponsoring church, Sierra Presbyterian. For questions or to register, call the church office at 530-265-3291 or visit http://www.sierrapres.com.
