Unity in the Gold Country

Join us for our service this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. when Rev. Praying in faith is an incredible way for us to see God’s power in action. Join us this week as Pastor Mark shares from 1 Kings about a time when the prophet Elijah was “Praying in Faith.” Traditional service at 9 a.m. features a mix of praise songs and hymns in traditional setting. Christian Science Church / Reading Room and Bookstore

Sundays: Stop by any Sunday at 10 a.m. to visit our weekly worship service centered on a sermon directly from the Bible and Science and Health. The sermon this Sunday is, “EVERLASTING PUNISHMENT.” A Sunday School is held at the same time where students up to the age of 20 learn all about the Bible and how to apply its timeless spiritual lessons in their lives (childcare is provided). On All Souls Day, November 2, we remember in a special way deceased members of our families, friends, the lonely and forgotten, and public figures who have touched our lives. In addition, we offer a special commemorative Mass at the historic St. Canice Cemetery at the top of Broad Street in Nevada City. This year Mass will be offered Sunday, November 8, at 4 p.m. We invite anyone who wishes to give a special spiritual gift to their deceased loved ones and others to join us for this celebration.

Trinity Church, Nevada City

With a skirling of the bagpipes, Trinity Church in Nevada City will be hosting the Gold Country Celtic Society’s 23rd Annual Kirkin’ of the Tartan at 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 22. This Scottish-American tradition is a time when those with a Celtic heritage can bring any item or memento that honors their heritage to be blessed at the altar rail. There will be a short, moving service and music with a Celtic tie. Refreshments will be provided after the service. There will be no charge for this event, so everyone can come and bring something to be blessed.

On every Sunday, Eucharistic services are celebrated at 8, 9:15 and 10:30 a.m, with a full music program at the latest one. The Healing Rooms of Nevada County

We pray for healing of body and spirit. Everyone is welcome whether they attend church or not. Come to the Main Lobby of the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, 155 Glasson Way, Grass Valley on the first and third Thursdays of each month, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
