Nevada City United Methodist Church
At our church at the top of Broad St. regular services will be held this Sunday, with a traditional worship at 9 and contemporary worship at 10:30 a.m. Junior and senior high bible study meets at 10 a.m.. Join us for coffee and fellowship in Fellowship Hall following both services. During the week: Bible study on Tuesdays at 10 a.m.; Youth Group on Wednesdays at 6 p.m.; Prayer Shawl Ministry knitting and crocheting on Thursdays at noon. First Baptist Church of Nevada City
During our 10:30 a.m. worship service, Dr. Ralph Wilson will be speaking on the topic, “Small but Growing.” We’re so impressed by “big,” but Jesus taught us to see the potential of very small things. Pastor Wilson will explore these topics from Jesus’ Parables of the Leaven and the Mustard Seed.
On Wednesday’s we meet at the church for a potluck at 6 pm and Bible study at 7 p.m., studying the disciplines that help us grow spiritually, following Richard Foster’s book, “Celebration of Discipline.” We’re currently in the midst of a spiritual growth, “50 Days at Jesus’ Feet,” with daily readings from Jesus’ core teaching, to culminate on Easter Sunday.

Pray Nevada County
We are seeking God on behalf of our communities. Open to all for Christian prayer, Pray Nevada County meets each Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. to pray for our county governments and services, schools and families, businesses and media, and churches and parachurch ministries. Since August 1997, 15 to 25 people from eight to 12 congregations have met each week to pray for our communities. Grass Valley AM AGLOW
We are a local chapter of Aglow International and meet the second Tuesday of every month from 9:45 a.m. to noon at 336 Crown Point Circle, Grass Valley.

The Healing Rooms of Nevada County
We pray for healing of body and spirit. Everyone is welcome whether they attend church or not. A group of local men meets from 6 to 7 a.m. Thursdays at Penny’s Diner for breakfast. Under the banner of “Christian Business Men’s Committee,” we have breakfast, read a portion of scripture, share what God has done in our life and pray. As a welcome break between weekends, these men encourage each other as they wish to encourage you in these trying times. The Palestine-Israel Working Group of Nevada County (PIWG)
The Palestine-Israel Working Group of Nevada County (PIWG) advocates for human rights, equality and justice for all in Palestine and Israel. St. Canice Roman Catholic Church, Nevada City
Pope John Paul II quoted the best and most effective way to grow in holiness for “our essential commitment in life is to grow spiritually in the climate of the Holy Eucharist. Not only with our communal worship at Holy Mass — it must go together with our Personal Worship of Jesus and extending in Eucharistic Adoration, in order that our love may be complete.” Pope Benedict XVI announced October 2012 a special “Year of Faith” to help Catholics appreciate the gift of faith, deepen their relationship with God and strengthen their commitment in this love with others.
St. Canice’s Parish Church will be implementing the Eucharistic Adoration for this Lenten Season. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be read after which will take us into Benediction. Starting from noon to 3 p.m. on March 10, we invite each and every one of our parishioners and visitors to spend some quiet time at our Holy Church. Our regular daily Mass is 7:30 a.m. Weekend masses are Sat. at 5:30 p.m., Sunday 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. (third Sunday will be our Children’s Mass at 11 a.m.).

Man” is the topic of the weekly Bible Lesson sermon on March 10; “Substance” on March 17; “Matter” on March 24 and “Reality” on March 31. These same Bible Lessons are read at Christian Science churches all over the world. Here in Grass Valley, services and Sunday School meet at 10 a.m.
