Trinity Episcopal Church
Everybody thinks of Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) as a wild party, but it’s the herald of the Lenten season. Fat Tuesday was the day to get rid of all the tempting, fattening food before Lent, a time of remembering Christ’s forty days of fasting. But Lent is not simply a time of deprivation. It is a time of preparation for the biggest celebration in the Christian calendar, Easter Sunday. But you don’t have to deprive yourself during Lent. In fact, the church encourages taking on something extra during Lent, such as helping those in need or extra prayer times. Find out more at Trinity Church. Eucharistic services are celebrated every Sunday at 8, 9:15 and 10:30 a.m., with a full music program at the latest one. Father Christopher Seal and Father Brad Helmuth alternate acting as celebrant and giving the homily. On Sunday, February 7, Trinity will feature the all-women Voces Angelorum for its 7 p.m. compline service. Find mystical spirituality and warm friendship while worshiping at Trinity Church. All are welcome.

We are approaching the season of Lent. This 40 day period between Ash Wednesday and Easter (not counting Sundays) is meant to create space to be renewed and reflect on the work that God is doing in our lives. To set the tone for this season, our Ash Wednesday worship service (Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m.) will include a meditation on two Corinthians 5:16-21 and the new life God has invited us into through Christ. Participants will then have the opportunity to visit various stations which will include the imposition of ashes, nailing our sins to the cross, writing out a prayer for someone else, and/or receiving ministry from our worship prayer team. Join us on Sundays as we continue to follow Jesus through the Gospel of Luke at 9 a.m. Traditional Service and 10:30 a.m. Contemporary Service, and Adult Sunday School on The Emotionally Healthy Church, at both hours. We are a non denominational church of self proclaimed “Pedestrians” —“Jesus did the talkin’ and we’ll do the walkin,” says Associate Pastor Lane Baldwin, with a fire in his heart. Here are examples of programs we have provided in one year:
-Easter Sunrise Service, Free Community Pancake Breakfast, and an Easter Egg Hunt.
*Cowboy Vacation Bible School in June, right before Father’s Day.
-“Operation Number 2.0 Pencil”, we collect and continue to distribute school supplies to four local schools.
-”Souper Sunday” allows anyone to come in after church, at noon, have a bottomless bowl of soup and a family movie at 1:00pm.
– “Operation Feed the Ridge”, we distribute six bags of groceries a day Monday through Saturday.
– “Community Work Day” was beautiful. The building we call Church was sanded and readied for painting, new doors were installed, and new window panes.
-“Cold Hands – Warm Heart” is a mobile clothes closet that provides anything warm we can get our hands on!
Again, we wouldn’t be able to help our community without our community’s help.
