Combie Bible Church
The Art of Marriage, a presentation of FamilyLife Ministries, is being presented at Combie Bible Church. This is a new video-based marriage conference built on the same biblically based content as the Weekend to Remember Getaway that FamilyLife presents. The Art of Marriage brings together some of the most respected and influential pastors and experts on marriage and family to share with you and your spouse. It also brings a fresh approach to a video conference by weaving together the following elements to help couples fully experience God’s design for marriage: expert teaching, engaging stories, real-life testimonies, man-on-the-street interviews and humorous vignettes. The seminar will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday night, February 22 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23. Combie Bible Church is located at 22924 W. Hacienda Dr. by Lake of the Pines. Brother, can you spare an … hour?
A group of local men meets from 6 to 7 a.m. Thursdays at Penny’s Diner for breakfast. Under the banner of “Christian Business Men’s Committee,” we have breakfast, read a portion of scripture, share what God has done in our life and pray. As a welcome break between weekends, these men encourage each other as they wish to encourage you in these trying times. Penny’s Diner is located at 2072 Nevada City Highway in the B&C Fowler Center in Grass Valley.
Pray Nevada County
We are seeking God on behalf of our communities. Open to all for Christian prayer, Pray Nevada County meets each Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. to pray for our county governments and services, schools and families, businesses and media, and churches and parachurch ministries. Since August 1997, 15 to 25 people from eight to 12 congregations have met each week to pray for our communities. The Healing Rooms of Nevada County
We pray for healing of body and spirit. Everyone is welcome whether they attend church or not. Come to the Main Lobby of the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, 155 Glasson Way, Grass Valley on Thursdays, 7 to 8:30 p.m. There is no fee and no appointment is necessary. Grass Valley AM AGLOW
We are a local chapter of Aglow International and meet the second Tuesday of every month from 9:45 a.m. to noon at 336 Crown Point Circle, Grass Valley. We are a Christian cancer support group that meets at Foothill Church. Those with serious chronic illnesses, including cancer, and their care givers are encouraged to come and share in a safe environment concerning this difficult time. The Palestine-Israel Working Group of Nevada County (PIWG)
We advocate for human rights, equality and justice for all in Palestine and Israel. We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at a private home. We will be discussing plans for raising funds for our Maia Project – bringing clean drinking water to a kindergarten in a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. We also maintain a weekly vigil of Women and Men in Black Thursdays from 5:15 to 6 p.m. on the Broad Street bridge in Nevada City. We have signs to share, and all who want the illegal occupation of Palestine by Israel to end are welcome to participate.
