Mountain Stream Meditation Center

Our Buddhist Insight Meditation group meets every Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Mountain Stream Meditation Center, 710 Zion St., Nevada City. Please carpool.

On December 23, guiding teacher John Travis will lead a silent meditation followed by a dharma talk.



Our group also meets at the Center for meditation and discussion on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and on the first Sunday of the month from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a potluck.

The Palestine-Israel Working Group of Nevada County (PIWG)

A group of local men meets from 6 to 7 a.m. Thursdays at Penny’s Diner for breakfast. Under the banner of “Christian Business Men’s Committee,” we have breakfast, read a portion of scripture, share what God has done in our life and pray. Hope Bearers

We are a Christian cancer support group that meets at Foothill Church.

Those with serious chronic illnesses, including cancer, and their care givers are encouraged to come and share in a safe environment concerning this difficult time. Advent is the liturgical season that precedes and prepares us for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. Many symbols and traditions are associated with Advent, especially the Advent Wreath with its four colored candles (three purple and one pink), but also Advent calendars, special Advent music, food, processions, and other traditions that may vary from one culture or region to the next. Pray Nevada County

We are seeking God on behalf of our communities.
