Trinity Church, Nevada City
The Russians are coming! All four Compline choirs will combine, 28 chanters, at 7 p.m. on August 13 to present The Great Compline in a Slavonic/Russian Orthodox/Anglican mode, in honor of the festival of Saint Mary the Virgin. It’s the great and dynamic music that makes a difference. Even singing some of it in transliterated Church Slavonic, the sound and overall flavor of this short worship experience will leave an impression. This candlelight service will possibly be zenith of the Compline choirs, so do not miss this one-time experience. Eucharistic services are celebrated every Sunday at 8 a.m., 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., with a full music program at the last one. Father Christopher Seal and Father Brad Helmuth alternate acting as celebrant and rotate giving the homily. August 27 will be Father Christopher Seals’ final Sunday with Trinity since he is retiring. It is another “not to be missed” service. Find deep spirituality and warm friendship while worshiping at Trinity Church. Join us at 202 High Street, Nevada City. All are welcome.
