Meeting to discuss air quality

Air is one of those basic elements of life that we all take for granted. We all want it to be clean and pure, just like we want clean, pure water. But who is responsible for seeing to it? Is it the responsibility of each individual? Or is it up to the government to make sure our air is pristine? What’s being done about air quality right here and now in Nevada County?

Joe Fish will help sort out the answers at the next League of Women Voters general meeting Saturday, March 13. Fish is the Deputy Air Pollution Control Officer for the Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District, and he is familiar with all the whys and wherefores of the issues affecting air quality in Nevada County.

The meeting is from 10 a.m. to noon March 13 at Peace Lutheran Church, 828 W. Main St. in Grass Valley. For more information call (530) 265-0956 or go online at http://www.lwvwnc.org.
