In the Service: Kyle Cutajar

Army Spec. Kyle L. Cutajar was part of a support team made up of soldiers from throughout the Army for the 2010 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The Army sponsored the nationally-televised football game played on Jan. 9 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

This was the Army’s 10th year as sponsor of the high school all-star game that pits the best players in the nation against each other in an East versus West contest. The soldiers’ support ranged from coordinating events with players and soldier-heroes to providing media coordination, hotel accommodations and organizing and orchestrating pre-game activities. In this year’s match-up, the West team managed to outscore the East team, 30-14.

Cutajar, an infantryman, is assigned to the 4th Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, Fort Myer, Arlington, Va. He has served in the military for three years.

He is the son of Thomas Cutajar of Ukiah, and Kristena Reckers of Browns Valley.

The specialist is a 2006 graduate of Cordova High School, Rancho Cordova.
