Host families sought for French students summer exchange

World Exchange student from France, Henri Detant (left), says good-bye to his host family friend Max Arnds last summer. The World Exchange program is looking to place three French students in Nevada County for about three weeks in August.

Three additional host families are needed in August when 15 French students arrive in Nevada County through the World Exchange program.

The students range in age 15-17, are fairly fluent in English, come fully insured and have their own spending money.

The nonprofit World Exchange program matches thoroughly screened students with local families who cite a variety of reasons for hosting: To improve their own children’s language skills, to learn how foreign teenagers view the world, to learn new skills or expose children to students to a different culture.

Students arrive late Aug. 1 and leave Aug. 20.
