“Bud” and “Dee” Huzefka will celebrate their 70th anniversary on Friday. The couple has lived in Alta Sierra for 30 years. Bud is retired from the Pacific Telephone Company and Dee taught music for many years.

Bud and Dee met in 1942 in the choir room at John Swett High School in Richmond, California. After high school, Bud enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1945 and they married while he was in training in Arizona. They were both born and raised in the Bay Area and lived in Richmond and Concord where they raised their children and worked before retiring in Grass Valley. Bud sang for many years in the Music in the Mountains choir. They have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Sweethearts for life.
