Ann Mixior

Ann Mary Mixior died Oct. 24 in Grass Valley. She was 98.

A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Sawtelle Veterans and National Cemetery in Los Angeles.

She was born July 4, 1912, in Chicago, Ill., to Mary and Michael Mrowiec. In 1942, she moved to Los Angeles where she married Benedict Mixior, a retired World War I and World War II vet. They lived in Los Angeles and raised their only child, Janet.



Ann was a homemaker, mother and volunteered at her church and the senior center. Her great joys were cooking, gardening, dancing, giving back massages, volunteering and she loved people. She, and her daughter, enjoyed shopping, traveling, recipes and cooking.

Her elder years were spent in convalescent care in Grass Valley. Ann was the last surviving of eight children.




She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Wayne) Garth of Penn Valley; grandchildren, Greg Kahn of Penn Valley, Rachel Kahn of Eugene, Ore.; step-granddaughter, Erinn Garth of Santa Barbara, Calif.; step-grandson, Scott (Susan) Garth of New York; and great-granddaughter, Madeline Garth of New York.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benedict Mixior in 1970.

Arrangements are by direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
