ANITA WASLEY

Anita E. Wasley died May 21 at Highgate Senior Living. She was 94.

In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. Burial will take place at Sierra Memorial Lawn in Nevada City.



Mrs. Wasley was born April 17, 1914, in Brodrick to Amabile Rossi and Pierina Spagnolli Rossi. She completed her schooling at Grass Valley High School. She married George R. Wasley on Sept. 9, 1933, in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Wasley was a homemaker. Her life centered around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing their interests and enjoying spending time with each one. Her kindness, strength and love will be missed by all who knew her.




Mrs. Wasley is survived by her husband of 74 years, George R. Wasley of Grass Valley; sister, Josephine Delgrosso of Grass Valley; sons and daughters-in-law Jerry and Nancy Wasley and George Wasley Jr. and Kathy Wasley, all of Grass Valley; grandchildren Rob and wife Denise Wasley and Jeff Wasley, all of Grass Valley, Mark Wasley of Truckee, Annette Swartz and husband Dan Palka of Beaverton, Ore., Andrea and husband Mark Hicks of Placerville, Tarron and husband Jeff Collins of Carson City, Nev., and Tony and wife Gina Wasley of Spring Creek, Nev., and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Amabile Rossi; mother, Pierina Rossi, and daughter, Georgine Wasley Swartz.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills in Grass Valley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.
