Anita Hopkins Newkirk died Aug. 24 in Grass Valley. She was 63.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 7, at The Holbrooke Hotel, 212 West Main Street in Grass Valley.

Anita was born Feb. 21, 1945, in Albany to Henry Hopkins and Ruth Fletcher Hopkins. She was the owner and founder of Sole Mates in Grass Valley, 1995 to 2006. She enjoyed home decorating and traveling.

Anita is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Heather Llewellyn of Laguna Beach; sisters and brothers-in-law Jeannette and Ernie Clemons of Vacaville, Ramona and Bill Thetford of Phoenix City, Ala., Patsy and Robert Anderson of Martinez, and Renee and Camran Nojoomi of Granite Bay, and 11 nieces and nephews and their children.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 2399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley, CA 95945.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.
