Andrew Rawlins

A rosary for Andrew Fercy Rawlins of Grass Valley will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary. A mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grass Valley. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mr. Rawlins died Thursday, Oct. 12, in Grass Valley. He was 80.

He was born June 10, 1926, in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, to Madeline Ferreira and Andrew Rawlins. He graduated from San Jose State with an AA degree. He served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman second class SV6-USNR. He married Ethel on April 10, 1948, in Kamuela, Hawaii. He worked as an inspector at Lockheed Space. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed music and flying.



He is survived by his mother, Madeline Ferreira; wife, Ethel Rawlins; daughter, Janis Rawlins; grandchildren Stefanie, Jason, Joshua and Jammie Rawlins; great-grandchildren Justis and Hailey Rawlins; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Rawlins; brother, Evarist Rawlins; and father, Andrew Rawlins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
