Alvena Butcher-Goff

Alvena Butcher-Goff went to be with the Lord on July 2. She passed quietly in her sleep, just as she had wished.

She was 80.

She was born on Aug. 11, 1927, in Muldoon, Texas. She was a longtime resident of the Grass Valley and Nevada City area.

She is survived by sons Roger Butcher, of Auburn, Fred Butcher, of St. Helens, Ore., and Scott Butcher, of Grass Valley; daughter Jackie Sbragia, of Chico; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Her family will miss her dearly.

Services will be held at Whispering Pines Church, 680 Brighton St., Grass Valley, at 11 a.m. July 11, followed by a celebration of life and family.
