Alice Ruxton

Memorial services for Alice “Bess” Ruxton of Grass Valley will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Rossmoore in Walnut Creek. Burial will take place at the Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland.

Mrs. Ruxton died Sunday, Jan. 22, in Grass Valley. She was 90.

She was born May 2, 1915, in Oakland, to Clarence E. Sipple and Alice Barrington. She graduated from Fremont High School and Merrit Jr. College Miss Miller’s Secretarial School in San Francisco. She married Jack Ruxton on Dec. 29, 1939. She was a homemaker and secretary at Dolores Premiere Beauty School and Kaiser Shipyard. She enjoyed her family.



She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Deedee Ruxton of Penn Valley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jack Ruxton; and son, John Ruxton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
