ALBERT POPPENBERG

Albert Poppenberg of Grass Valley died Aug. 5 at Kaiser in Roseville. He was 80.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, at Calvary Crossroads Church, Highway 49 at Wolf/Combie Roads. Call 273-8916 for more information.

Mr. Poppenberg was born Nov. 18, 1927, in Chicktuwaga, N.Y. He attended Towsand High School in Maryland. He married Marie T. Poppenberg on Oct. 23, 1950, in Baltimore, Md.



Mr. Poppenberg worked for Mead Packaging for 35 years. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and reading Westerns.

Mr. Poppenberg is survived by his wife, Marie T. Poppenberg of Grass Valley; son, Curtis Albert Poppenberg of Grass Valley; daughter and son-in-law, Trude and Tim White of Grass Valley; grandchildren Bethany, Tobin and Chelsea of Grass Valley, Doug and Niccole Brown of Auburn, and Chasin and Valarie Scott of Lincoln, and great-grandchildren Dorian Poppenberg and Makena Scott.




He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Bond; sister, Fay O’Malley, and brother-in-law, Scott McQuaker.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.
