AirAligned to assist teens

Five local teen dancers have been accepted into highly regarded professional training programs, and aerial dance group AirAligned will perform at a benefit concert to raise money to help pay their way.

Amelia Eisen, 16; Hilary Brown, 16; Rachel Johnson, 16; Sierra Stockton, 17; and Taggart Pryde, 18, auditioned for and won placement in Lines Ballet and the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, beating out the more than 1,000 dancers across the country who auditioned for each of the programs. After spending four-to-eight weeks training with internationally known choreographers and dancers, these young artists will dance in a public performance in San Francisco.

Tuition and room-and-board costs are $4,000 to $8,000 per dancer.

Gourmet desserts and a silent auction at 6 p.m. will start off this evening, tonight, April 5, at The Center for the Arts in Grass Valley.

The show starts at 8 p.m. Call the center’s box office at (530) 274-8384, ext. 14, for reserved-seating tickets at $25; tickets will sold at the door, as well. Call (530) 478-1599 to make a contribution or receive more information.
