Agnes Jacobson

Agnes Leo Jacobson died Feb. 10 in Penn Valley. She was 94.

A memorial mass will be held at noon Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Mrs. Jacobson was born Oct. 8, 1913, in Nolbach, Neb., to Joseph Rieger and Agnes Dorothy Rothenberger. She received her bachelor’s degree from Mount Saint Scholastica and her master’s degree from California State University, Hayward. She married Paul R. Jacobson in Kearney, Neb., on July 6, 1938.



Mrs. Jacobson worked as a special education teacher for 30 years. She was a member of the California Teacher’s Association and enjoyed bridge, gardening, painting, reading and knitting.

Mrs. Jacobson is survived by her daughter, Judith A. Blue, of Penn Valley; son, William C. Jacobson, of West Linn, Ore.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.




She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Paul R. Jacobson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, or take a loved one out to dinner and toast to Mrs. Jacobson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley.
