Adopt ducks to aid Rotary

“2002: The Running of the Ducks” – the 11th annual Gold Country Duck Race – is the largest annual fund-raiser for the 49er Rotary Breakfast Club of Nevada City.

Proceeds will go to Seven Hills School, Deer Creek School, Lyman Gilmore Middle School, Pleasant Valley School, the Friendship Club, the Rotary Polio Eradication Campaign, the Nevada Union High School Interact Club, 49er Breakfast Rotary community service projects, and the Nevada City Constitution Day celebration.

The Duck Race is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the parking lot of Cornerstone Realty,101 Boulder St., overlooking Deer Creek.



Ducks can be “adopted” at $5 each with a chance to win a $1 million special prize. Other prizes include a $5,000 grand prize, $1,000 second prize and $500 third prize. Tickets are available from 49er Rotarians and through beneficiary groups.
