The “Trilogy of Short Stories” in tonight’s and Friday’s Reader’s Theatre Series at Miners Foundry Cultural Center will be read by three area actors.

David Iorns will read “The Cat That Went to Trinity,” Janis Jablecki will read “Everything That Rises Must Converge,” and Elinor Barnes will read “The Loudest Voice.”

Iorns writes, produces, directs, and acts in radio and TV commercials. He was a founding member of Actors Circle.

Jablecki won an Elly award for her portrayal of Martha in Foothill Theatre Company’s “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” She also has appeared in Off Broadstreet Theatre musicals.

After an eight-year absence, Barnes is returning to the stage with the series. Her theatrical life has centered around musical theater, especially the Berkeley Opera Company and the Davis Comic Opera.

Tim O’Connor, who has directed all but one of the productions in the four-year Reader’s Theatre Series, directs the comedies.

Show time is 7:30 both nights.

Tickets are $10 general and $3 for students at Harmony Books, Odyssey Books and the Foundry.

The reading is a benefit for the cultural center at 325 Spring St. in Nevada City.

Call 265-5040 for tickets or information.
