Ackerman needs decaf

Ackerman needs to cut back on those quadruple espressos. Is he trying to create a Watergate or Whitewater type scandal? Should we call it “Shinglegate” after the choice of current state of the art fireproof and bug-proof shingles used to protect the North Star House? Ackerman mentions in his Sept. 28 diatribe that it was by a unanimous vote that the supervisors allocated the money to the Land Trust with Supervisor Horne not present. Her vote would not have changed anything had she voted against it.

Why don’t you send one of your cub reporters to have a look at Black’s Carpentry invoices for the roofing to find out how much was in material and labor, etc., to see if the company gouged the Land Trust or not? Ackerman makes it sound like all $180,000 went to one person and they walked away with it. No, there is a new rebuilt roof on the building. How many square feet is the roof? I bet it’s bigger than your average 3-bedroom house. Have the cub reporters call roofers and get some bids. Then let us know who is the cheapest. I am going to need a new roof soon.
