Accused molester pleads innocent

Accused child molester and pornographer Luis Ponce pleaded innocent today to more than 20 charges of aggravated child molestation in Nevada County Superior Court.

Judge John Darlington set a felony conference in the case for 1 p.m. May 4.

Ponce arrived at Wayne Brown Correctional Facility this week to face local molestation charges after being accused of child pornography in Alameda County.

Deputy District Attorney Charles O’Rourke had Ponce in and out of the courtroom in less than two minutes.

In January, Nevada County investigators found computer disks of children being sexually exploited at Ponce’s home on Rattlesnake Road.

He worked a paramedic supervisor in Berkeley, where investigators found video tapes of Ponce allegedly molesting young children.
