About LeGacy Productions

Chris and Sue LeGate and their son Alvis officially formed LeGacy Productions for their first full stage production of “A Few Good Men” at the Nevada Theatre in August 2007.

After years of enjoying a busy theater life with all the local theatre companies, the LeGates knew they wanted to start producing on their own, using local talent and bringing shows that are new to Nevada County.

“We have been really lucky to continue with other companies (most notably Off Broadstreet Theatre) and additionally blessed with the support from Off Broadstreet and all the other local companies,” said Sue, who is co-directing LeGacy’s new play, “On the Waterfront” with Rene Sprattling.

The benefit night for Friends of Nevada County Military was especially rewarding, she said, and we look forward to the same success with this year’s planned benefit night, this time for The Friends of Nevada County Libraries.

“Although Chris was born here and the entire family located here in 1980, it is amazing how many NEW friends we have made through the course of the creation of the company.”

She likens the whole experience to the happiest struggle of their lives.
