Dakota Sid will perform country-flavored blues at Cooper's Jan. 2.

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Dakota Sid will play country flavored blues and tell a few stories about the West at Cooper’s Jan. 2.

Joining him will be his son, Travers Clifford, on guitar and his good friend, Billy Smart, on bass.

Dakota Sid’s originals are about nature, family and relationships. He won a SAMMIE award from the Sacramento News & Review for “Best Folk Musician and Vocalist” in 1992.

The trio will play from 9 p.m. to midnight at Cooper’s, 235 Commercial St., Nevada City. Admission is free.
