A letter to Cindy Sheehan

Thank you Cindy Sheehan for all you have done for Americans, some of whom don’t understand that we are struggling to regain our constitutional republic. The fact that this war administration published so much smear and hatred against you proves you were exposing the ugly truth; Dwight Eisenhower was right when he said the military-industrial complex is so powerful it will do what is profitable even if it is not in the best interest of the nation.

The most devastating conclusion you reached “was that Casey” – her son – “did indeed die for nothing … killed by his own country which is beholden to and run by a war machine that even controls what we think.”

Cindy, you did not hurt any soldiers or their parents. You were the messenger. Sometimes reality is painful, but the longer we ignore it the more damage is done. Pretending that our soldiers are not dying in vain doesn’t change the facts.

You’ve been wondering why the Democrats caved to Bush. It seems that too many Democrats are mercenaries of corporatism just like too many Republicans.

We all need to re-evaluate our progress and our goals. America’s drift toward fascism started with the Federal Reserve Act (1913). We can’t reverse fascism in two years. But, you did a lot to alert us to the challenge. Good luck.
