A Halloween fun night for adults returns to Miners Foundry

Yes, Fright Night is back – good news for the many who love to dress up and dance. Started over 20 years ago by KVMR deejay Bobby Angel, the event took a hiatus last year, causing withdrawal symptoms for a lot of people.

The band will be the ever-popular Saul Rayo & Cocina del Mundo (Saul says he’s thrilled to be playing at Fright Night after a decade). Further entertainment will be provided by the belly dancers of Troupe Al Ama and, of course, the great costumes folks show up in. Prizes for the scariest, funniest, sexiest, most creative and grossest costumes will be awarded. Snacks and a no-host bar complete the experience, which begins at 8 p.m.

Tickets for $20 may be purchased in advance at Record Connection, The Book Seller, BriarPatch, Yabobo and Miners Foundry Cultural Center itself, where the party happens, at 325 Spring St., Nevada City. If you push your luck and there is still room left in the building, you can pay $25 at the door. Remember, this is for adults, 21 and over. Contact 265-5040 or http://www.minersfoundry.org.
