A basketball shoot-a-thon to remember local resident

A basketball shoot-a-thon is being held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Union Hill School gym in the memory of Christian Anthony Craig, a local resident, who died in a car crash in 2006.

Craig was 12-years-old and a sixth grader at Union Hill School, at the time of his death. This is the second year of the annual shoot-a-thon.

The cost to register for the event is $15 for children 14-years-old and under and $25 for persons over 15 years. Registration includes a T-shirt or a hat and a memory bracelet.

Money raised at the event will support Union Hill Sports Booster, Twin Cities Church youth ministries scholarship fund and Nevada County youth basketball scholarship fund.
