5 Mile House announces new chef

Flagged as Nevada City’s” best new eating establishment” after one year of opening, the 5 Mile House Restaurant is stepping up their offerings by proudly introducing their new Executive Chef and General Manager, Joe Lynch.

“Our goal is to continue to provide the best fine-dining experience in the area,” says Joseph Gonsalves, owner of the 5 Mile House Restaurant. “Chef Lynch is the perfect fit for us and his diverse culinary experience and strong footing in the restaurant industry will enhance our popular California Asian Flair cuisine and continue to give us a “cutting-edge.”

With extensive restaurant experience both in the kitchen and front-of-the-house, Chef Lynch will be drawing from over 20 years of culinary experience, including Food and Beverage Director at Lake of the Pines Country Club. “My focus will be on the needs of our clientele and what we can do to make their dining experience a fond memory,” says Chef Lynch who personifies his approach by taking time to interact with guests; digging deep for suggestions and even preparing special requests.

Exhibiting a colorful career, Chef Lynch has maximized his love of cooking by stretching his profession a bit further than your quintessential chef. He created, produced and starred in a live cooking show, hosted cooking classes and wine tastings, and has written and published several articles. “I have built a loyal following and enjoy sharing my creativity in the kitchen.” Along with nightly specials, menu entrees include Macadamia Crusted Mahi-Mahi, Grilled Paniolo New York Steak, and their signature Roasted Rosemary Prime Rib. Chef Lynch also plans to execute holiday brunch buffet line-ups with menu items that “reflect the season.”
