12th Annual Wedding Fair

Planning a wedding can often be an overwhelming experience. With all the decisions that need to be made in order to make the day perfect, it’s great to have an event that facilitates the process. The upcoming 12th annual Wedding Fair sponsored by Ivy Photography and co-sponsored by the Union Newspaper is Nevada County’s only full service bridal event.

“The fair was designed to unite all the retailers and vendors needed to plan a wedding right here in Nevada County,” states Louise Ivy. “Having everyone in the same location give the brides and their families a chance to compare and gather ideas and it also provides an opportunity for local venders to network among themselves” she continues.

There is no admission to this year’s Wedding fair on Sunday, February 20 from 10:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M. It will be held at the Miners Foundry on Spring Street in Nevada City. A festive atmosphere prevails making the Wedding Fair fun for all that attend. A number of door prizes will be offered by participating vendors, and caterers will have tempting morsels for fairgoers to sample.

There will be live music and well as disc jockeys, and the sound of cooing doves that are available for rental to release after the wedding ceremony. Of course no wedding fair would be complete without florists, cakes, wedding gowns, tuxedoes and photographers.

Some people like to climb up into the white antique carriage, while others want to discuss hair and make-up with representative from local salons. There will be party rental companies, gifts and invitations, and officiates in attendance well as suggestions regarding locations for the ceremony or reception.

Because there are often many parties associated with weddings, the Wedding Fair vendors can help with rehearsal dinners, bridal showers and other gathering that can be time-consuming to put together. We invite you all to join us this year to see all that our community has to offer to plan the wedding of your dreams.
