Nevada County plant sales offer head start for gardens

The 32nd annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale will feature over a dozen growers of Organic Vegetables and Herb Seedlings grown locally to give your garden a head start on the growing season.

The sale will be held at the Miners Foundry 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, May 12.

The sale offers fa wide variety of heirloom and rare vegetables, flowers, herbs, and more. There will be a diverse selection of annuals, perennials, and trees for your landscape plus native plants and succulents. Talk with the farmers and nursery folk and get tips and a new insight into how to grow successfully in our region.

Bring your own box and fill it with the bounty of the spring.

Plant Sale & Flea Market, May 19 at North Columbia Schoolhouse

The North Columbia Schoolhouse hosts the annual plant sale and flea market on the lawn May 19, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Local vendors and organic plants. Local farms will sale a variety of veggie starts, trees, flowers, succulents and more. Shoppers can expect a large selection of organic plants available for purchase.

This year’s vendors include many local farmers with a wide variety in plant options.

There will also be several artisan craft vendors. Featuring hand blown glass, exquisite bead work, paintings, pottery. Flea market vendors will be offering used gently used clothing, books and other whimsical and useful treasures.

The North Columbia Schoolhouse Cultural Center on the San Juan Ridge is located at 17894 Tyler Foote Road, Nevada City.
