“Woven Treasures” exhibition, presentation in NC

The Magic Carpet will host “Woven Treasures,” an exhibit and presentation providing an educational journey into the value and beauty of hand-knotted Oriental rugs, at 7 p.m. Saturday at its 408 Broad St. location in Nevada City.

The Woven Treasures rug exhibit will showcase more than 40 beautiful antique, tribal, and stunning modern examples of Oriental rug weaving. Many of the rugs are produced through Cultural Survival projects that The Magic Carpet has supported for the past 20 years.

Understanding what goes into the creation of a fine, hand-knotted rug is enjoyable for the curious, and vital for the investor or connoisseur. An Oriental rug’s origin, age, condition, and the many skills required for its production, all contribute to its desirability and collectability. Come learn more at The Magic Carpet.

The Woven Treasures exhibit and presentation are free and open to the public. For more information, please call The Magic Carpet at 530-265-9229 or visit our web site http://www.themagiccarpet.biz.
