Upcoming acting/theatre workshops

The week of March 23rd marks the beginning of two acting workshop series with slots still open for new and returning students.

• “TRUTH IN ACTING” workshops are nine weeks long and move from improvisation through monologue and scene work. Whether a stage-novice or a veteran, assignments are tailored to the experience level of the actor and allow for expansion of theatrical skills in a safe, respectful environment. The workshop is from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Monday evenings March 23 – May 18.

• INSTANT IMPROV, Just Add Actor! — A workshop series Tuesday evenings for eight weeks. Equally as useful for the classroom or the business meeting as on-stage, the workshop will be progressing through an entertaining series of games and activities to develop Improv skills: spontaneity, creativity, confidence-in-the-moment. It will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, March 24 to May 12.

Class size is limited. Pre-registration required. Class locations vary. For more information, email her at sandrarockman@outlook.com or call 530-265-6514.

Rockman has been involved with the local theater scene since 1978. Her next project is co-directing with Ken Getz a “Theater by the Book” staged reading of the musical play “Ordinary Days” by Adam Gwon April 1st. Sierra Stages and Miners Foundry co-produce this performance as a fund-raiser for the Miners Foundry Cultural Center.
