Del Oro offers movies for kids in the morning

Sierra Theaters will offer eight weeks of kids movies at bargain prices at the Del Oro Theatre beginning Tuesday and continuing through Aug. 1. Each movie will play at 10 a.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The snack bar will be open; the air conditioning will be on.

The series begins Tuesday with “The Lorax,” the popular adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s classic, environmentally themed children’s book about a young boy who encounters a cantankerous forest creature after venturing outside of his artificial city in search of a tree. The next seven weeks showcases the most popular kids movies from 2012, including Disney Nature’s “Chimpanzee” and the popular holiday hit, “Rise of the Guardians.” All films shown are rated G or PG and will be in digital projection and digital surround sound in the main auditorium at the Del Oro Theatre.

Tickets are $3.50 per show or $20 for a series pass for all eight. Advanced tickets and series passes can be purchased at the Del Oro box office. There will not be a show July 4.
