Author, psychotherapist releases new book

Local psychotherapist and author Belden Johnson will present his newly-published book, “Co-Creating Deeper Connections in Your Real Relationship,” 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Tomes, 671 Maltman Drive in Grass Valley.

“Co-Creating Deeper Connections” is a stand-alone sequel to Belden’s 2011 book, “Real Relationship: Essential Tools to Help You Go the Distance.”

A relationship specialist in private practice for nearly four decades, Belden has distilled what he has found to be the most powerful tools for helping sustain a vivid, joyful bond. He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Belden plans to engage his audience with one or two exercises from Chapter 5: “Play and Laugh Together,” which promises a fun time for all, he said.

Co-Creating is Belden’s fourth published book. He has also written a collection of poetry titled “Snake Blossoms” (1976), and a novel, “Fathers and Teachers” (2008). All his books will be available at the reading. He has taught creative writing at Sierra College, the University of Maryland, and the University of Iowa.
